Telecoms Engineer

You keep everything connected

At Iv, as a telecom engineer, you will be right at the forefront of the energy transition. You will work on groundbreaking projects that are not being developed on this scale anywhere else in Europe.

You will be responsible for the telecom scope of substations: from design to delivery, including vendor selection, interface management and technical documentation. You will design systems such as fibre optic connections, radio systems and network infrastructure that must operate under extreme conditions at sea. In doing so, you will ensure a perfect connection between the substations, land stations and network operators.

You will work under time pressure, within tight budgets and according to strict requirements in terms of safety, scalability and reliability. But that is exactly what you enjoy. Like all of us, you love a challenge. Naturally, you are technically strong in your field. But you also know how important collaboration is. You easily connect with other disciplines such as electrical engineering, automation and structural engineering. Because your designs must integrate seamlessly. You regularly consult with suppliers, monitor progress and ensure that everything fits together.

At Iv, we go beyond the norm. We designed the first offshore HVAC substation ever (Horns Rev A) and later also the first HVDC substation in Dutch waters: Borssele Alpha and Beta. And now? Now we are working on the next generation: 2 gigawatt substations. You will contribute to this as telecom engineer. You will work in a multidisciplinary project team together with the Lead Engineer and Project Manager. You will also be part of our telecom team, a group of five specialists who are just as enthusiastic about technology as you are.

What do we expect from you?

• You have a higher professional education or university degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.

• At least 5 years of experience as an engineer in telecommunications or instrumentation.

• You have experience with vendor management and designing telecommunications systems.

• You feel at home in multidisciplinary project teams.

• Good command of the Dutch and English language (spoken and written).
